2 Meme's and A Contest!

O.K.   I just spent over an hour preparing all these random facts and meme answers and the freaking Interent connection up and died on me!  I got booted off just like that and had to wait about an hour to gain connectivity again!!!  Don't you just hate it when this happens!!!

As mentioned in my previous post,  I've been tagged!  Three times that I know of for the 7 Things Meme... Emily, Laurie, and Tammy tagged me...

So with out further ado...

Here are7 Random Things about me:

1. In my early twenties... Back in the 80s  I was totally into MOD --I mean I had the hair cut going (slanted Bob with one side of my hair cut super short--like a buzz cut), the makeup, the dress style, the music (Madonna, Psychedlic Furss, Journey) etc, etc. At some point my girl friends and I decided it would be really cool to get scooters.  We really wanted Vespas (but they were too hard to get and super expensive).  We ended up getting matching red Honda scooters that we trecked all over town to: Parties, the park, shopping, clubbing, etc.  We had loads of fun cruising around S.F.   Oh how I wish I were young again:)

2. I aslo used to be a real girly girl.... I mean the pretty dresses, skirts, high heals, nails, makeup etc.  Since my little Cowbow was born---my perspective has really changed.  I am much more relaxed now and a hard core knitter too!  I can go months without a hair cut!  Sometimes 5-6 months eeek!

3. There is this things that comes over me when I am shopping.  When making a purhcase, regardless of what it is... The item must be as perfect as possible.  I mean no tears, no wrinkles, best in color, best fabric, touch and feel. You get the idea.  If the first item is un-apealing I will pick the one in the middle or least handled!  If for some reason its the only one availalble and imperfect--I may still make the purchase --but walk way feeling cheated somehow!

4. I am a picky eater!  I hate chunky salsa particualry the raw onions and tomaotoes.  However, if the salsa is blended I can't seem to get enough...  What is interesting about this is that I am Latina!  Believe me when I mention this in front of people I get weird looks:).   Similarly with boxed chocolates --I LOVE nuts and chews.  When eating out of a box I have been known to take a bite out of some and put them back if I don't like them:)  This drives my husband and other family members crazy!

5. I used to work for a Bank.  I started out as teller and worked my way up to Manager:)  I then gave it all up-- to go back to College.  Good thing too!  I loved my college life at Berkeley!

6. I'm a slob...  Please don't let this little thing shatter your image of me!  When I was growing up in Nicaragua,  we had a maid and she was the best maid evah!  Perhaps I was a slob then too... only I did not realize it because things were always magically in their place!  In my heart of hearts--this forever spoiled me!  As my little guy would say:  Bad Egg!

7. You know how when you are made in the womb you inherit things from both parents... Well for the past 40+ years I have looked at my hands and feet and complained that I got my parent's worst body parts.  I have my father's feet and my mother's hands.  However, yesterday as I was driving home... It hit me --Yes by golly you have your mother's hands and she is a knitter! I mean a hooker!  She has been crocheting since she was about 7 years old!   That is probably where my LOVE of KNITTING! comes from:)

There was one other meme that I had written about before I was booted off.. The 7x7 Meme.  it basically asks you to list 7 things that you would, or would not do before you die. 7 things that you are into and 7 people that you would tag... Only I don't have it in me to re-write this at this time... 

I have also decided not to TAG Anyone!  Not one person, but rather Everyone!

So this is where the contest part comes in to play:)   I have been meaning to hold a contest for my 500th comment.  I will award a gift to the person that leaves me the 520th comment!  I cannot tell you where we are with the count.... however, leave me a comment with something random about you and on Wednesday I will take a look and anounce the lucky winner!

Oh my gosh girl, you totally cracked me up. I loved reading all of this. I think we all had a time ...say the 80's when we dressed kinda different. For me, I wore these gold flat ballet shoes, shirt that was a sheer body suit w/matching bra underneath, lots of gold rings, pink lipstick and lots of hairspray. I don't wear gold anymore or wear pink lipstick. Today it's comfy in a t-shirt, sneakers, hair up in a scrunchy no hair spray and sheer gloss.LOL
I feel the same way about my salsa too! I can't stand chunky salsa. I can eat a ton of the stuff too. Love it!

I love dipping pickles into ketchup. I too, have lost my high maintenance status since having kids. Now I go for the natural look. I can even leave the house without makeup. I wish I could sing.
