Does anyone know where this quote comes from?  It is my new Obsession!

Two months ago while on Ravelry I signed up for a most awesome arrangement on the Sundara Yarn Love board: "Swap: your socks, my shawl?" 

The arrangement being that each set of participants would send each other a skein of Sundara sock yarn from their stash along with a pattern of their choice.   I was ever so delighted to knit a shawl in return for a lovely pair of socks.  

My partner requested a Wisp Scarf/Shawl from her skein of Candied Chrome

I started on this project prior to sock camp. Only I got a little sidetracked by all the shannigans at camp.... Lets face it, Tina's yarn has a way of doing that to a girl:)

Upon my return I dedicated as much time as possible to catching up...  As my swap partner Lisa was close to completing my socks.   

Once this Wisp reaches its rightful owner and a few buttons are added --it will most likely be worn like this: Like one of Kirsten's lovely daughters

Its so versatile its can change in the WISP of a moment depending on the owners mood:)

 Of course, she beat met to the punch and sent me these beauties about a week and a half ago:

I tell you my jaw dropped when I opend up the package!  These are Netherfield by Kristi Schueler from the last edition of Twist Collecive on Ravelry. Lisa made them for me out of 1 of my skeins of Sundara Goldenrod

They are by far the prettiest socks that I own!  Thank you soooooooooo much Lisa!

Soccer is Fun!

First thing...The coach lays down the gameplan for the day

Next as they wait for more players to show up.. They have a quick game of Sharks vs. Moles?  I'm not sure I got this quite right --but lets go with it shall we:)

 Everyone starts off as a mole and then if they ball goes out of bounds--they turn into  sharks...

After a bit... There were more sharks than moles

The got down to two lonely moles...

and then there was one little mole left:

Against all of these Sharks - Yikes!

Thank goodness - the little Mole prevailed!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Hope you are all having a good holiday!  We are getting ready to go out for an Easter Egg hunt, BBQ and then dinner later at little sisters house. We went to church earlier this morning as we do every Sunday.  Although today is a most special day as He has Risen!

I do have an hour or so b4 I head out...  Hey that could be spent knitting...

On the third day of SockCamp....

The sockateers gave to me another fabulous day - filled with fibery love - Yay!

That came out a little corny... But hey it was a great day:)  The Hermits were scheduled for yet another new sock architecture class with Cat Bordhi.  I LOVE her!  She is such a wonderful teacher. The woman is a genius!

 

All I can say is that the rumor is that this new sock architecture yields a great form fitting comfortable sock.  I can tell you no more as we have been sworn to secrecy until her book is published late summer -hopefully by sock summit.

After class we were given an assignment. Each tribe was required to go on a scavenger hunt.  We all got the same items of course but there were bumps along the way in trying to retrieve some of the items:)  Someone had some pretty ellusive lips (for a kiss on a napkin) and one camper made us sweat it 'til the last minute:)

Some of my favorite items from the list were:

A Rogue Rose: They meant the sock from the Sock Club...  But we improvised as we had SpindleRose in our tribe and we found this awesome ale at the grocers he  he....

I tried to avoid going to the store--but then succumed when an anouncement was made that a new box of yarn had made it in and get this ---they had more new colors!

My plans were shot after the scum bubbles... Things got a little wooozey   I felt weak in the knees from all the yarn fumes and pretty pretty colors all around me...I could not resist these bleeding hearts!

And this gorgeous Thraven BFL....   Hey I don't have a black shawl yet...  I might I have cast on for a Shawl that Jazz in Thraven along the way...  not sure....

And who could resist little bunny foo foo and sunkissed sands and an even cooler version of Motley Hue and look boy colors?  This last one I had to cast on with to practice my lever technique:

Sock Camp Madness Day II

Wait B4 I begin with Day Two.... I must show you the beginning of my falling off the bandwagon and landing in BMFA yarn Heaven --You know I am a spinless jelly fish when it comes to Tina's yarn right?

I forgot to mention that after dinner on Monday night they opened the store and it was rare gems, mille end and beautiful yarn everywhere!  The store was full to the brim and there were less campers this year!!  More yarn!!! Less people...   I tried to be good and only went for the rare gems:

I was trying real hard to exercise some self control for peets sake!

See no existing colors here, just new ones and rare gems --I was proud of myself!

And now for Day II:

As the morning events kicked off --all of us star struck little sock campers were bright eyed and bushy tailed....   There were Four Tribes: Dungeness, Peeky Toes, Fiddlers, and Hermitts.  Classes etc. were going to be divied up this way.   After a scrumptious breakfast (The best buffet breakfast at this in by the way!   Amazing variety and quality of bread, oatmeal, and fresh berries and fruit served daily, along iwth eggs, potatos, ham, bacon, sausages, etc.)

I was part of the Hermitt tribe and as such was scheduled to take Stephanie's "How to become more efficient with your knitting"  She taught us Lever Knitting!!!  

You start off by anchoring your stationary needle under your trusty arm pit -See how Linda is doing it here:

OMG - Dudes, you know that famous You-Tube Video where someon tries to slow down her knitting technique so that we can figure it out...  Well let me tell you... Once she taught us the technique it instantly clicked!    Boy was I ever happy that this was my first class on the agenda!  I was able to practice the rest of the week:D  The good thing is of course I now knew what to do... The bad---I felt liek a brand new knitter, unsure of my knitting and a little wobbley....  Its getting better though!

After a pretty satisfying lunch we headed over to the conference hall where we made these:

After Dinner and Drinks at the in house pub....  we returned to the conference center for more fun and games.

We played Knitting Jeopardy and guess what?   The Hermits started off as the underdogs and then we made up for it at the end and came in second place...3 points below the winning team!

Everyone Scored some Crab Poop!

Here is a funny...... One of our Godess Knitting Teachers came to our table and helped herself some chocolate on the table..... She said and I quote "Man these are really good,  hey let me have some more... Gosh I love these.....    Oh wait a minute...  Is this the Crab Poop?"  

We all busted out laughing..... Hillarious... Oh well guess you had to be there and witness the look on this Godesse's face and our laughing I suppose Ha!

Best Knitting time I ever had....

After a little shopping we headed over here for some yummy lunch

After shopping we topped things off with some pretty delish ice cream from here (thanks for reminding me cupcakefaerie te he...)

Then it was off to Port Ludlow to kick off our Sock Camp Craziness!
