Gone Knitting

My study on color has come to an end and while I was not able to photgraph extensively....I did dig into my archives to see what colors I tend to surround myself with...

This is a pretty good representation of me colors!

As for readiness for camp--I made a list:

Pack clothes - Check

Pack hand knits - check

Pack Camera - Check

Kniting  for the road- check, check, check.....

Money - Check

Sleep ---????? 

Homework - Check, double check (see Gus below), tripple even with the color study

Spring Greens

Red Red Wine

 

Yeah you could say it starts off as an extension of Aubergine...

 

 but trust me it grows into all of the absolutely amazing variations of the color of deep red blood

Of course no one does red red wine like Sundara!

Color Journal Begins today

As most of you know.. these past couple of weeks its been mostly about Sock Camp and the BMFA homework.  I am almost done with part 1 - A sea creature and will begin on part two today.

A color journal--this is Tina's second request for us..All of this week - color, color, color - Yeah!

So what color would I surround myself with if I could?   What is my all time favorite color under the spectrum?

For those of you that have been my swap partners --you probably know the answer;D 

My FAVORITE color is AUBERGINE

 Of course many would say its purple... Aubergine, Purple, Aubergine, Purple... the suttle nuances of this color --are just dreamy to me

Or should I say Yummy?  It could be he he... This looks mighty delicious to me...

But then so does this:

 

I gravitate to this color... If its there 9x out of 10 I will reach for it:D

When this came out I had to have it --Scout Hooked me up with my Eggplant Zuma:

I love Art also even though I don't own as much of it... However, when I saw this little number Cynthia created... I had to have it also...

 

can you guess what color is next?  I think I may move to mey second most favorite....tomorrow

Currently on my needles

The beginnings of a lovely Wisp Scarf:

 

I absolutely adore this Sundara Candied Chrome!  I took one look at this yarn and just had to get my greedy little hands on a skein of my very own:D

 As you can see the one above has darker more muted shades.  Much lovelier I think... Oh well this one is still gorgeous.  I will have to find out the date of the first one to see if I can land one in that exact shade.

The lovely wisp above is for a fellow raveler--I am participating in the "My Shawl for your socks" swap from the Sundara yarn Love group.  Lovely!

What you see before you is Wall of BMFA Socks That Rock! Scrumptious little cakes:D chalk full of color.

I received my homework instructions packet for Sock Camp and you see that teeny tiny little green skein? That is the yarn for the homework.  Everything else --well lets just say I went stash diving... and I could not resist... B4 I knew it I had picked up a few lovelies...some rare gems and and some mill ends.  Some perfect little skeins too. I suppose you can say I like to do it BIG

Can you guess which are the rare gems and mill ends from the perfect ones?  I do wonder if this will be an easy task?  All of these cakes are lovely in their own way:D  I feel a contest coming your way!

 

Are you  feeling  it?  Can you feel that Socks That RAWK LOVE just jumping off the page?

Lets shake this up a bit.   Lets make this a two part contest.

Part I: 

Tell me which of the skeins above are The Rare Gems and Which are the Mill Ends. You could also include what you believe to be the perfect skeins.  You can only pick one category. Rare Gems or Mill Ends.

Definition of Rare Gem: Perfect Skein of Yarn that gets dyed and the color is not exactly what the dyer was expecting get. Hence, Rare Gem.

Mill End: Yarn may not be perfect. Dyer is not happy with yarn quality. This may also impact the way the yarn takes color. 

If you guess correctly or the person that comes the closest to identifying all the rare gems, and or, all the mill ends wins one of these gorgeous cakes:

Now for Part II:

This will be more difficult.  From the above shot --the complete one... Name the colors of the BMFA yarn that you recognize.  The person to guess all the colors (from those that have names) will win a rare gem from sock camp. We can discuss color preferences on that one.

Three more weeks and I'm off to Woodby Island:D and Bainbridge Island (ChurchMouse Yarns) and Seattle - Yay!

Oh and look I finished a Leyburn!  Finally...now too complete the second... I need these for camp reunion:D

More Swapy Goodness....

This my dear friends arrived on Saturday from my Knitters Coffee Swap IV - Pal Allena!

Just look at all that yarnie goodness filtering to the top:)

Allena is such a doll!  She provided several colors of yarn for felting and a handyed skein --the pink and yellowish green here. 

Get this she used real coffee to handye this sock yarn!   Wow!

These two pretties are near and dear to my heart! 

Allena how did you know that I was a CAL Bear?  These are my school colors:D  Man you are good!!!

I think some Blue and Gold colorwork is in order after I get done with some socks and a little felting:)

Dont' you just love this little cutie?  She keeps staring and my delicious Hazelnut flavored Java that Allena sent me...  Hay girlfriend... Sorry if you are having caffeine withdrawls ---I'm not sharing - Ha!

Love Bites

Hurray, My Love Bites Swap Package arrived!   Joy was kind enough to pack it chalk full of LOVE!

 

This was my belated Valentines day  package from the Love Bites  Swap I participated in last month.
