    May Day Distractions

The day after tomorrow is May Day and I have a very important package to assemble.  Aside from a number of niceties I have been setting aside... a pair of Elfine's Socks will be included.  At least that is the plan.   I had hoped to have these babies done and nicely wrapped by now... Unfortunately,  my knitting time has been a little off lately due to some health issues:(   So here I am rushing to have these done by tomorrow.  In the event I miss the deadline I will have to express that package over to my lovely swap partner:)

I would show you an in progress picture but I somehow did not take any.  Sock # 1 is blocking and # 2 is on the needles.  I turned the heal last night and have 4 more pattern repeats to go before I can bind off- Hurray!  Oh wait!  I just found this picture that I snapped last night when 'Lil C snuck the sock off the blocker and tried it on for size he he...   I swear--that boy thinks that every pair of socks I make are intended for him:)

The next project of interest is an ISE 6 Scarf (International Scarf Exchange).   I had purchased 3 lovely skns of Malabrigo in Damask to make a Holding Hands Feeding Ducks Scarf... But then changed my mind twice.  The pattern was so darn easy I felt almost as if I were cheating.

I did not like the way the Malabrigo was swatching for the Prismatic Scarf Pattern either...

then --I stumbled upon this lovely Pattern by Anne Hanson:  Obstacles

I did a little more research on Ravelry and I found the perfect yarn and in colors favored by my pal:

The yarn is Marjaana in the Georgia O'keeffe Colorway by Schaeffer yarns

I found this at Little Knits ---I understand its discontinued.  Thats too bad because they do have some really pretty colors and its very soft in 50 tussah silk /50 merino...

As for the "Funky Sock Monkey" Contest---  DRUM ROLL   Please.....

    The Winners are:

For the Grand Prize (Pattern and yarn) ---  Carie from the Knitted Bear !  Carie  that  song was off the charts!   I sooooo want to go see Grease when it returns to the theatres here in San Francisco!

Now I know this makes some of you sad--so please accept my apologies...However, you will all soon be able to purchase the Sock Moneky Kits, Pattern as well as the exclusive sock camp yarn colors KawKaw and Knitters without Borders!!!  Hurray!  Tina mentioned on the Rockin Sock Club blog that tomorrow Wednesday these items will be made availalble to the general public:)

The Booby Prize Winner is Kelly from Kelly Girl Knits !   Kelly one of these is coming your way along with a few other goodies:)

ok, i love the holding hands, feeding ducks, and i love obstacles too! great patterns.

oh, drat! journeys! why are you so tempting!

Thank You!!! :) (squeee!). I'm glad you liked the song it was great fun to write (or rather marmelise the original). I love the idea of see-though trainers, I'm going to have to find a UK stockist - round here we only get clear welly boots!

Call me crazy but isn't May first on Thursday? Isn't that May day? ;) Oh that little cake tape measure is darling! Yay for your winners - you have the best prizes! Your scarf will be gorgeous, I can already tell - yu hve such an eye for detail!

Wow, love both of those scarf patterns! And I can't believe they make see-through sneakers!

Your son is so cute! He's all posing like a rockstar!

    OMG, feel better!
Great sneakers! Did you get yourself a pair?

I hope L'il C wasn't too upset when you told him the socks were for someone else.

I like how all of the scarves look! But the one you chose will, of course, be beautiful!
    Hugs!

Ohhh Obstacles is so beautiful! You'd probably hate how the HHFD curls on the edges anyway. ;)

I Looooooooove those socks. I queued that pattern on Ravelry not to long ago. Must make a pair of those. Now onto the most important news I have received.....I won the booby prize!! Hooray!!!! I LOVE the tape measure especially since I collect them. WOOHOOOOOOO!!! Thank you soooo much. Your awesome!
