    Buttercup

I've Signed up for another most special swap!

You see this pretty pretty little Buttercup Fairy?

Well she was SockPixie's Inspiration for this:

Whick in turn has inspired me to knit these for my special May Day Sock Swap partner:

Thanks Emily for pointing this new "TO ME" Indie Dyer!  I snapped this up just in time as I now see that there is no reference whatsoever left on Sock Pixie's site of this yarn. I am not sure if she creates repeatable or non-repeatable themes...  We shall see. However, I am very excited as I have been wanting to knit Elfine's Socks for a couple of years now.   For some reason, the minute I saw this yarn I knew I had to give this pattern a try.

Buttercups have been sprouting around through Indie Dyer land lately:)

Here is another is another version of Buttercup from Hello Yarn:

Buttercup_thumbnail_image_4 I have actually not received this pretty handspun yet!  So thumbnail from the Hello Yarn Website it is.   I already have a hat pattern picked out for this: Its the Pro Bono hat pattern by Angelina Fagan from Zen Strign:)

Next Up from Julia Vesper's Knitterly Things --She also was inspired to create a Buttercup Colorway.  Isn't it Gorgeous!

Of course her inspiration was the song: Build Me Up Buttercup by the The Foundations:)  I LOVE this song!  Its really a great tune even though the message in the lyrics is not anything to be cheerful about.

    FOUNDATIONS THE lyrics

I found the lyrics --too bad it dosen't come with the song:(

Oh wow. You have the most amazing stash of any knitter I know. I basically need to get out my drool cloth every time I go to check your blog! :) That Vesper is so cute. And I cannot wait to see those Elfine's socks knitted up--I think they'll be beautiful in that yarn.

What a great inspiration! And very Spring-y!

Thanks for the song. It's a favorite! Now I'll be singing it all night. :-D

Build me up Buttercup is PERFECT for this swap! I love that song. I remember singing it at the top of my lungs in my college dorm room. I'm sure there was beer involved!
