A couple of weeks now I have been on the "I want to knit My First Sweater" kick. Well I'm here to tell ya that ---I don't know what heck took me so long! I am really loving the whole process, the scrumptious Rowan and Noro yarns, the idea of these being wearable garments and not accessories, the construction and seaming as well! What the heck was I so scared of? I could kick myself....
Check it out--My woolly Sloan Vest is complete and keeping me pretty toasty this past week. I've worn this 3 times so far:
Project Details:
- The Sloan Vest featured in the book Yarn Play by Lisa Shobhanna Mason
- Needles: Size US 17 circulars 24" cord
- Cast on: 1/29/07
- Completed: 2/2/07
*Caveat: This is an over sized sweater--I am thinking the Large would have fit fine on me. I will be undoing the side seams to take it in a bit. Overall: I really like it.
Next up is my darling Poppy Sweater also out Yarn Play. I casted on Saturday morning and continued working through the Super bowl. I'm really enjoying this item too! The Cash Iroha is so silky and soft and the tone of red is gorgeous:)
The 3rd Sweater out of this book that I've been eyeing is the Lorelei shell. I think I may save this one for next month - Spring is just around the corner --as well as Easter.
After re-discovering Noro and falling in love all over again with their yarns I quickly purchased these when I saw them featured at Woolplay. Silk Garden Light in the 2015 colorway --they came in the mail on Monday!
Of course I've already cast on and making good progress to making one of these:
Yes my dear friends, I have a lots of active projects on the needles! Never a dull knitting moment at Chez Marisol --at least I hope not!
Sweaters: 1
Socks: 4
Shawls: 1
Oh and about yesterday's post- The Oh so meaningful event that required I cast on for yet another pair of socks was the Premier of Looooossssst!!!!! I cast on for my 4-8-15-16-23-42 Yarntini socks! I managed to knit up 4 repeats of my sock pattern as I was glued to the boob tube last night:) A number of you emailed me about this and I will have a random drawing tomorrow. I'll contact the winner soon. Progress pics for the Lost Socks next week.
As for tonight -- I'm Knitting with Grey's, Leyla, Mercedes, and my little sister Michelle.

You have me considering that vest - it's gorgeous! I thought Lost was amazing last night and have that colorway in my stash, I should knit with it during the show, that would give me more to look forward to, hmmm? I have my Grey's knitting all picked out! Have to get some McDreamy from Yarntini for that:)
